I think a more contemporary version of that book (that I absolutely loved) is The Queen of Palmyra by Minrose Gwin.  Edgy, but well worth the read.

Hi,

I have a request from a student regarding good books that have a strong moral. (She really liked To Kill a Mockingbird.)

Any thoughts/suggestions?
