Hi everyone,
There had been some discussion recently about having Paul Volponi come in for an author visit. A few schools have already had him come in, and some other have booked him.
I'd like to have him come to my school too, if possible. However, there have been some concerns raised as to how good a fit he would be for middle school, given the content in some of his books.
I have a few of his books, and while some of the content could be considered a bit edgy so to speak, I feel they are ok for more mature readers. For 8th grade boys especially, I think he would be a good fit.
Pretty much any of the reviews I've read say the same thing.
Has anyone else had any similar concerns brought up about his books? What about his presentation?
I wanted to get some feedback before pursuing having him come in.
Thanks,
Chris Barlow
