Friends,

We have a challenge before us as outlined in the Knowledge Quest blog post, “If You Invite a Legislator to the Library” http://knowledgequest.aasl.org/invite-legislator-library/

Congress is on their spring recess during the weeks of April 10 and April 17.

Please invite one (or both) of your Senators, or your Congressional Representative, (or all three!) to visit your library during their April spring recess. Now, more than ever, they need to see what 21st century school librarians and effective school library programs do and how you contribute to student learning.

Let’s make sure that every one of these Congressmen/Congresswomen is invited to visit school libraries during April which, of course, just happens to be School Library Month!  Our theme this year could not be more appropriate:  Because School Libraries Empower Students!
