The AASL National Conference features more than 120 concurrent sessions to help school librarians and educators take their skills to the next level. The sessions cover the latest in school librarianship and education. Strands include:

- Teaching and Learning
In addition, each concurrent timeslot will feature a session on the new AASL Standards, as well as an author session.

The Exhibit Hall also features programming opportunities. Authorpalooza features authors every 15 minutes doing readings or answering questions about their books, with author signings after every timeslot. The Makerspace area allows attendees to play with the latest products and activities for their own school library programs.

Social Media Contest during National Conference
Each day during national conference the AASL Social Media Editorial Board and a group of volunteers will be looking for #aasl17-tagged social media posts that are the most informative, most entertaining and/or funniest, best picture, best selfie, best session notes, and most creative group photo.
The prize? Bragging rights! Posts will be featured on the Knowledge Quest website and the KQ Conference Edition e-newsletter, and each selected recipient will receive a sticker and digital badge to show off their accomplishment.
