[Conntech] Reminder: Still Looking for a CL Columnist

Looking for an Opportunity to Do Some Creative Writing? Consider This.

The Connecticut Libraries Editorial Team is seeking one or two people to write periodic columns for the regular Obversion feature in CL, which attempts to do for the newsletter what Andy Rooney does for 60 Minutes (in a somewhat less curmudgeonly way). Current writers Bill Uricchio and Maxine Bleiweis use this open-ended column to comment on life in libraryland--and life in general.

The ideal Obversion columnist can produce three sparkling columns each year, can restrain him/herself to no more than 750 words each time, and can meet the deadlines. If he or she is thoughtful, opinionated, articulate, witty, creative, erudite and a great writer, we'll be thrilled.

Interested? Then, no later than Friday, November 16, please send me: 1) A brief biographical paragraph about yourself, and 2) A few paragraphs describing the topics you might write about and that demonstrate your writing style. If you have a sample of something you've written previously and want to send it along (as an attachment), that would be great.

Thanks,
David Kapp

P.S. Our search is not limited to librarians. If you know of a patron or a friend who cares about libraries, please alert them to this opportunity. You can find examples of the column on page 2 of every issue at http://www.ctlibraryassociation.org/newsletter.htm#news
