A reminder that CLC and OCLC CAPCON are offering both "Introduction to OCLC
Connexion Client Interface" and "Searching OCLC WorldCat for Catalogers" on
Thursday, December 6 at Naugatuck Valley Community College in Waterbury

"Introduction to OCLC Connexion Client Interface" is from 9:00 to 12:00.

Students will work through the basic cataloging workflow.  The course will
provide training on searching WorldCat, navigating search results, working
with bibliographic records, and exporting and printing labels. This course
is perfect for staff members who do copy cataloging, as well as those who
create original records in Connexion Client.

"Searching OCLC WorldCat for Catalogers" is from 1:00 to 4:00.

This course introduces technical service users and catalogers to searching
WorldCat.  Students will learn numeric, keyword, and scan title searching
strategies, and how to navigate search results.  Participants will also
learn how to select the most effective search and how to use qualifiers to
narrow search results.  Examples and exercises will be based on the OCLC
Connexion Client interface. This course is perfect for staff members who
have some experience using OCLC Connexion Client, or those who wish to
improve their searching skills in the cataloging module.
