 Barney Branch Assistant

(LA 2)

 

(Reference/Reader's Advisor; Building Supervisor, Computer Instructor, Branch Circulation Assistant)

 

 

The Farmington Library, Barney Branch, 71 Main Street Farmington, a vibrant, energetic and stimulating center of intellectual and social activity, is seeking a Branch Assistant LA 2.  This position is responsible for reference and reader's advisory work, interlibrary loan, circulation duties and staff supervision.  Duties include publication of PR materials using Publisher, statistical record keeping, collection development, catalog updates, overseeing the homebound program, assisting the public using the OPAC, on-line data bases and the internet, as well as teaching computer classes.

 

Supervision and management responsibilities at the branch are part of this position. Evening and weekend hours in rotation are required.  Similar assignments at the main library may also be expected.  The Barney Branch Assistant LA 2 reports to The Branch Librarian.

 

To be considered for this position a Bachelors degree and library experience are preferred.

 

Starting Date: December 1, 2007

Starting Salary:  $37, 800

Full time, 35 Hour Week
