[Conntech] Author visits and book talks

How does your library handle author visits and book talks?  Is there a particular staff member who handles all of it-contacting authors, reserving rooms, arranging publicity?  If so, is that person a full time reference librarian, another full time person, or a part-time person?
  Or does your Friends group do it?  Or is there a particular member of your community that holds a series of talks?  Whatever you do, do you think it is successful, or would you change it?
