We are writing to inform organizations supporting positive family interactions and early literacy development that we have posted the Mandarin language version of the Language is the Key: Talking and Books video at the Washington Learning Systems website.
The posted preview includes the entire video, not just a clip. Other complete videos available for preview include Talking and Books in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
Language is the Key is an evidence-based program that shows parents how to encourage young children to talk and build the foundation for literacy. The program uses a "dialogic reading" approach.
To preview the videos go to www.walearning.com
Each language set includes two 20-minute video: Talking and Books, and Talking and Play, and a manual for conducting parent workshops, including handouts.
Each program includes linguistically and culturally representative speakers. In addition to English, we have programs for parents who speak Spanish, Vietnamese, Mandarin, Korean, and Filipino.
The materials cost $179 per language set (Shipping and handling is $8 per set.)
We want these materials out there and used so
We encourage unlimited copying of the videos
(Copies cannot be sold)
If you want to make copies for multiple sites we encourage you to do so.
