Immediate opening at Portland Library:


Supervisor of Children's Library Services / Librarian II


 

Energetic, enthusiastic professional person dedicated to children's services
of a vibrant public library in a small, centrally located community. Will be
responsible for collection building, programming, outreach and
communications with schools and other agencies; will be part of library
planning team and development of teen services. Works with 

part-time staff and volunteers. Provides reference assistance to adults,
children, and teens.

 

Requirements:  ALA/MLS; will consider qualified degree candidates.
Experience in providing excellent customer service in a children's
department in a public or school library. Experience with an automated
library system and demonstrated computer skills. Previous supervisory
experience is desirable; valid driver's license, physical dexterity and
visual acuity.

 

40 hours per week; regular night and Saturday rotation; starting salary is
currently  $45,531; great benefit package. Union position; Equal Opportunity
