Public Libraries:

Over the years I've had inquiries from libraries looking for any possibility for group coverage for health insurance for their employees so  I thought you'd be interested in a bill that has been introduced in the General Assembly.  Raised Bill 5536 seeks to reduce costs to municipalities and increase benefits for employees by opening up the state employee insurance pool to municipalities, including pubic libraries.  

If I read the bill correctly, this would also be available to non-profit agencies and small companies.  I'm forwarding to the list in case libraries may wish to submit testimony concerning this bill.  Find the text of the bill at:

See line 9 - for the reference to public libraries.  

A public hearing is scheduled for March 7th at 12:00 PM in  Room 2E of the Legislative Office Building.  This is the only bill scheduled for this hearing.
