[Conntech] Question for academic libraries - Pls respond "off list"

Hello -- I'm pondering developing an "open reserve stack" that would
allow patron self-service for most of our book reserves. The books will
be clearly marked as "in-house use" and protected by our book security
system. The one problem I am wrestling with is how to count use. Right
now our books are behind our circ desk (we don't have a separate
Reserves Room) and we have a mechanism to do a traffic count as we hand
them out. I'd like to avoid having my staff do a "browse" count by
wanding the "open reserves" before reshelving but that may be the only
way to get statistics. Is anyone doing "open reserves" now with a neat,
easy way to do a count? Please respond to me personally (ie "off
list"). Thanks very much, Bill U
