Heads Up:

We got a reference question today asking for the book Love Letters of Great
Men, used in the new movie Sex and the City, and central to Carrie and Mr.
Big's romance. Evidently, according to press reports, it is an imaginary
book!!! Amazon and a used book dealer called AbeBooks.com have received
hundreds of queries about the book's existence. People may be requesting
this ILL or asking libraries to order it.

You can't make it up!!!

The closest is Love Letters of Great Men and Women: from the Eighteenth
Century to the Present Day, from the 1920s and reissued last year by
Kessinger Publishing. ReQuest does not show this owned in CT. (Certainly
there are other books around about famous people and their love letters, but
one person at a time usually).

We feel that soon the producers of the movie will get on the ball and
publish theirs in time for Christmas! Ho, Ho. ;-)

We found, according to our patron, one important love letter from the movie
by Beethoven: July 7th, the Third Letter, in the Heilgenstadt Testament (his
will).
