I am a reference librarian at Norwalk Public Library researching the issue of library statistics, their use, and their collection. Are any public libraries using LibStats (the open source software used by Academic Libraries) to track their statistics? If so, who at your library is responsible for inputting the information and for producing the charts/reports?

If you do not use LibStats, what other method do you use for tracking statistics? Do you use the same method for overall library statistics (circulation, program attendance) as you do for reference statistics (number of reference questions asked in person, on telephone, etc.)? What about "digital" statistics-"web page hits", etc.? Are those digital statistics kept using the same method that is used for the overall statistics (i.e., a specific software program or database)?

Finally, can you recommend a blog, wiki, discussion list, that will provide on-going assistance and discussion of library statistics/measurement problems and issues?

Thanks for reading this far! And thanks for your help.
