[Conntech] Position Opening: Adjunct Cataloging Librarian

Central Connecticut State University is seeking an Adjunct Cataloging
Librarian. This is a 15-hour per week position. Employment is on a
semester basis starting with the First 8-week Summer Session (May 27,
2008- July 17, 2008). Salary, $25.00+ per hour depending on
qualifications.

Responsibilities:

*	Provide complex copy cataloging of library materials in all
formats and subjects and some original cataloging 
*	Upgrade brief  records in OCLC prior to importing in CONSULS,
the online catalog of the Connecticut State University system
*	Assist with cataloging gift  materials
*	Assist with special projects 
*	Database maintenance tasks
*	Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:  
*	ALA-accredited MLS
*	Experience in cataloging on OCLC  
*	Knowledge of current cataloging rules and standards, including
AACR2r, MARC21, and LCSH 

Preferred qualifications:
*	Experience with LC and Dewey Classification Systems
*	Experience with a library automation system such as Innovative
Interfaces
*	Reading knowledge of  an East Asian Language
