I am seeking information about health care benefits (insurance) offered to
employees in order to present options to our Board to set a policy and then
find insurance. Please reply to me off-line at lmclaughlin at bibilo.org
1. Is your library a town department or an association library?
2. If employees at your library receive any health care benefits, is
it based on number of hours worked per week?
3. How many hours must they work to qualify for insurance?
4. Are there tiers to this? For example, if they work between 20 and
29 hours they may buy into the group insurance but must pay the premiums
themselves but employees who work between 30 and 34 hours pay only a portion
of the premium and "full time" employees contribute a smaller percent of the
premium.
5. If you are an association library may you piggyback on the town's
policy?
6. If you are an association library, do you have any suggestions on
where to find affordable insurance?
I am aware of the House Bill that Sharon noted in February, but want policy
setting information as well.
Thank you in advance.
