Hey Mark, That ignition looks pretty interesting. Why not go with dual crane
units and be rid of the points and condensors all together?
On another note, I am trying to identify an inductive pick up unit that I
have here. It comes as standard equipment with the VDO tach from Jabiru but
is not a VDO product (I don't think) It is used to drive the tach. It is in
a sealed plastic bag and has the words "Made in USA" on it as well as the
following number : 304-166. This thing looks like it was constructed in the
end fitting of a bicycle brake cable (The threaded section with the lock nut
on it to adjust the cable tension. It has thin red and black wires exiting
the back of it with the letters RS 304 printed on the heat shrink. I don't
have an RS catalogue handy so it might be an RS part number. I would like to
use six of these to drive my six independant ignition systems on my 3100
vair motor. It is so small, I bet six of them won't even equal the weight of
a single set of points.
Thanks
Regards
