I'm not sure which Mark you're asking, but since I haven't heard from Mark
Jones, I'll give it a shot. The best my plane can do with the 2700 is 179
mph TAS wide open at 1500' while turning 3400 rpm, and cruise is 166 mph TAS
at 3200 rpm on a standard day. Most everything you'd want to know about the
performance of my plane is located at
http://home.hiwaay.net/~langford/performance/ , including the last chart,
which shows the latest 2700cc engine numbers with the Sensenich 54x58 prop.
The nose wheel is costing you about 10 mph, and the lack of a pant is
probably another 8 mph or so (I'll let a nosedragger guy answer that one).
