Jim: The two brands are a MSD (part number 8210) and a Mallory (part number
29000) . The old packaging that came with the MSD advocated that the
operator could run BOTH coils at the same time but the newer packaging does
not state such and a telephone call between their tech line personal and my
self was conclusive that MSD now believes this to be taboo. Mallory still
states that simultaneous operation is OK. Either will work just fine and
you will receive opinions both ways (from this list anyway) as to running
them both on take off and downwind. If you consult the "archives" you will
find a plethora of information of this topic, maybe more than you want to
read! Best to all, KEEP BUILDING--Ron Milan ronmilan at verizon.net

Hi Guys, I know I should look back though the archives to get the answer to
my question. But I figured someone would know straight off .
Anyways I think the part is called an ignition splitter for two ign coils to
one distributor cap. If anyone knows the different brands and part no.
the good or bad and the tried and proven, and maybe safe operation of them
. I.E. would you run both coils as a part of your normal take off and
downwind procedures like you do the booster pump. Whatever thoughts will be
appreciated
Best Regards to the list
