Len,

I read your question to Dave Stroud, and let me toss in this comparison
point. Christavia, by most accounts is a good plane. Assuming you like the
design
because it is rugged, proven, steel tube fuselage, high wing cabin plane,
and has flown with a Corvair, consider the Wagabond, which has the same
qualites.Here is a link to Dave Vargesco's

I thought to bring this up, because the two previous posts to yours have a
connection to this. Bruce McCaskey, who is to be commended for the amount of
searching and posting he has done in the last year, listed a Piper Tripacer
PA-22 in his last referral. Dave's airplane was built from a Piper Colt,
which
is a PA-22-108. The airframes are virtually identical. $3500 for a complete
airframe is a very good deal. Your post asks about the time to build. The
Wagabond built from a PA-22 would have to be one of the least time consuming
ways
of building a plane. The Wagabond plans are available from Wag Aero.

Dan Weseman wrote the post after Bruce's. Dan has flown a great number of
light aircraft, including 3 different Corvair powered ones. Dave's Wagabond
lived at Dan's hangar for a few months, and Dan reported that it was a good
plane, and a lot of fun to fly. Anyone considering such a plane, could
certainly
get some input from Dan privately.

They made 9,700 PA-22's. This puts them in the top 6 of most produced light
aircraft. This tells you they were good planes and that projects will be
available in most parts of the Country.

Thank you.
