Helloooooooooooooooooooooo Tampa Bay Parrot Heads!

Tampa Bay PHC night at the Devil Rays was a huge success! Thanks to all who came out to support the club and the Devil Rays!!

There's a meeting this Wednesday night, August 2nd at Storman's. Hope to see everyone there!!!!!

Following is an update on more events we have planned:

SUPPORT OUR TROOPS!!
This Wednesday is the last night for the TBPH Club to collect items to donate to the PHINdy Club's BuffettFest of games, music, food, and fun to help the troops find a bit of Margaritaville in the Iraqi desert...if only for a while. Following are items on their wish list. If you would like to bring some of these items to the meeting on Wednesday, the club will ensure they get shipped to the appropriate place.
Tropical Shirts, Piñatas, Palm Trees, Leis, Beads, t-shirts, Postcards/notecards with personalized messages, Posters, banners...anything tropical, Inflatables of any sort (for pool races, etc.), Disposable cameras, Hats, Decorations, Music CDs,
Prizes for king and queen, Non-melting candy, gum, Club banners with logos, signed/w messages, Table favors
Thanks for your enthusiasm and for supporting our troops.

WAZOO
Dont miss WaZoo at Lowry Park Zoo this Saturday, August 5, from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. "Featured as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, this "tropical taste explosion" features more than 150 beverages from around the world, food from Bay Area restaurants, a wine garden and live music from “Impulse” and “Blue Stone Circle”. The Parrot Heads will be doing the late Cleanup after 11:00.

It is very important that we as volunteers all understand what is expected of us for this event. We do get to sample the beer and the food, but we have to maintain a level head in order to be ready for the Clean up after the event. David, our Chief Officer of Community Events, dolphin96 at verizon.net - 727-543-6548, has more information. Currently, all volunteer slots have been filled and we have some back-ups ready to go should someone not be able to make it at the last minute. A HUGE thank you to everyone for their interest and for volunteering to help ONCE AGAIN!

BAR STROLL - Channelside
The TBPH Club BAR STROLL thru Channelside is scheduled for Saturday, August 12th. Rooms are available at the Tampa Marriott Waterside for $89 (813-221-4900 or 800-228-9290). Parking at the hotel is by valet only for $16/night or $8 for the day. Parking is also available at Channelside if you are not planning on staying over. The Bar Stroll will start at Champions in our host hotel at 6:30. First stop in Channelside will be Hooters at 7:30. T-shirts are now on sale at the meetings. Can't make it to a meeting? Contact Kelley at kelypsoul at yahoo.com to make other arrangements. Come on out and stroll thru Channelside with all your Parrot Head friends!!!

HELP WANTED - Membership Committee
The Membership Committee is looking for volunteers to help out at the Membership Table during meetings. Needed are 2-3 people to work as a team at every third meeting from 6ish to 8:30ish (depending upon activity at the table).

Responsibilities include talking with member wannabes, keeping a log of new members and renewals received at the meeting, laminating badges, opening membership mail, handling money and checks and making change. At the end of the night you would prepare the bank deposit slip, pack up and return materials to the storeroom. You don’t have to worry about set-up as our own 12-Volt Man, Jerry, takes care of that for us. (Thanks, Jerry!)

We need outgoing, upbeat people who have a positive club attitude and who enjoy talking with new people. The routine is easy to learn and it’s a fun area to work. If the club has had a positive affect on your life and you can convey that feeling to new member wannabes, we’d love to talk with you.

If you’re interested you can either come to the membership area during the meeting and ask for Bob or Becky or email them at rnickera at tampabay.rr.com Thanks!!
