Helloooooooooooooooooooooo Tampa Bay Parrot Heads!

Happy day after the 4th of July! Hope everyone had a good, safe holiday weekend!

There's a meeting TONIGHT, July 5th at Storman's. Hope to see everyone there tonight.

Following is an update on more events we have planned.

Beach Clean-up & PARTY -- It's Time to Cleeeeeeeeeeeean the Beaches!!!
As Adopt-A-Shore representatives for Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful, Inc. (a nonprofit organization), the Tampa Bay Parrot Heads are once again volunteering to cleeeeeeeeeean the beaches. Come join all your Parrot Heads friends as we clean Parrot Head Island along the Courtney Campbell Causeway this Saturday, July 8th. We will start at 9:30. The post party will be at Banana Boat, 13090 Gandy Blvd N., St. Petersburg. You can sign up at the meetings or contact David, our Chief Officer of Community Events, directly at 727-734-8263 or 727-543-6548, or e-mail him at dolphin96 at verizon.net.

BASEBALL - Tampa Bay PHC night at the Devil Rays
The Devil Rays Parrot Head night has been set for Saturday, July 22nd. Mark your calendars now. Tickets will be sold at the meetings. More details to come.

Pirate Cruise Phlocking
The Parrot Heads of Central Florida have invited us to join them on Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise on Sunday, July 30th on the 2 p.m. sailing. They will be meeting at Crabby Bill's at noon for lunch, then living the pirate's life at 2. The cost of the cruise is $30 and includes beer, wine and soft drinks. You can get tickets at the dock IF they aren't sold out or be safe and register at www.captainmemo.com -- be sure to enter "The Parrot Heads of Central Florida" in the comments section.

WAZOO
Dont miss WaZoo at Lowry Park Zoo on Saturday, August 5, from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M. "Featured as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, this "tropical taste explosion" features more than 150 beverages from around the world, food from Bay Area restaurants, a wine garden and live music from “Impulse” and “Blue Stone Circle”. The Parrot Heads will be doing the late Cleanup after 11:00.

It is very important that we as volunteers all understand what is expected of us for this event. We do get to sample the beer and the food, but we have to maintain a level head in order to be ready for the Clean up after the event. Once again David, our Chief Officer of Community Events, dolphin96 at verizon.net - 727-543-6548, has more info and can sign you up if you cannot sign up at the meetings between now and then. We will need 25 volunteers and 10 backups. Avoid the rush - sign up now.

TBPH 12th Birthday Bash
Mark your calendars for the weekend of Sept 8-10 for YOUR annual birthday party at the HolidayInn Harbourside and JimmyGuana's. More details coming soon. This is YOUR birthday party and YOUR ideas are very important. We want YOU to be involved in putting this event together so contact NanaBabe asap as a planning meeting will be announced very soon.

First priority will be given to paid members of the club and a credit card is required to reserve a room. Below is a note from the Director of Conventions for MOTM:

Just a friendly reminder -- MOTM registrations are NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE!! The registration belongs to you and you alone!! This is PHIP Policy and clearly stated on the MOTM Registration web site under Frequently Asked Questions. For registrants unable to attend - their proceeds from the convention registration fees go to PHIP Charities.

If you are unable to attend MOTM, please e-mail me at weluvkw at yahoo.com or motm.reg.chair at phip.org as soon as you know and provide the name of the person(s) whom will be meeting with me or my assistant to pick up your gift bag. Make sure that the person picking up the gift bags for you have your registration card and a state/country picture identification card. Only those persons whose names match your email will be able to get your gift bags.

Those person(s) will be provided your gift bags and t-shirt, but will not be given your nametag. It will then be mailed to you for security reasons.

To alleviate some of the problems that have occurred in the past, the name of the person(s) picking up the gift bags will have their name written down next to yours within our records in case there are questions later on.

If you do not have anyone pick up your gift bag, only the following items will be mailed out to you after the convention is over -- the t-shirt, credential, lanyard and convention guidebook. No other items from the gift bag will be included.
