Helloooooooooooooooooooooo Tampa Bay Parrot Heads! 

A VERY HUGE THANK YOU goes out to all those brave volunteers who came out to help the TBPH Club Cleeeeeeeeeeeean the Beaches on July 8th -- being the Saturday after the 4th of July, we had a BIG MESS to clean up and everyone did an AWESOME job!!! 

There's a meeting this Wednesday night, July 19th at Storman's.  Hope to see everyone there!!!!! 

Following is an update on more events we have planned:
 
BASEBALL - Tampa Bay PHC night at the Devil Rays
The Devil Rays Parrot Head night IS NEXT Saturday, July 22nd.  Last chance for tickets will be at the meeting this Wednesday!  $5 beach tickets at the meeting - $8 at the park.  Can't make it to the meeting?  Contact Karin Beckman at 727-825-3391, 888-FAN-RAYS x3391 or by email kbeckman at devilrays.com.  Pre-game Tailgate starts at 4 pm in parking lot 8 at Tropicana Field (near the UHAUL building, 1st Ave S to 10th St S.).  It's a grass lot so bring your cooler, grill, chairs, shaker of salt and enjoy the party!

Pirate Cruise Phlocking 
The Parrot Heads of Central Florida have invited us to join them on Captain Memo's Pirate Cruise on Sunday, July 30th on the 2 p.m. sailing.  They will be meeting at Crabby Bill's at noon for lunch, then living the pirate's life at 2.  The cost of the cruise is $30 and includes beer, wine and soft drinks.  You can get tickets at the dock IF they aren't sold out or be safe and register at  www.captainmemo.com -- be sure to enter "The Parrot Heads of Central Florida" in the comments section. 

WAZOO 
Dont miss WaZoo at Lowry Park Zoo on Saturday, August 5, from 8:00 to 11:00 P.M.  "Featured as one of the “10 Great Beer Festivals in the Country” by USA Today, this "tropical taste explosion" features more than 150 beverages from around the world, food from Bay Area restaurants, a wine garden and live music from “Impulse” and “Blue Stone Circle”.  The Parrot Heads will be doing the late Cleanup after 11:00.   
  
It is very important that we as volunteers all understand what is expected of us for this event.  We do get to sample the beer and the food, but we have to maintain a level head in order to be ready for the Clean up after the event.  Once again David, our Chief Officer of Community Events, dolphin96 at verizon.net - 727-543-6548, has more info and can sign you up if you cannot sign up at the meetings between now and then.  We will need 25 volunteers and 10 backups.  Avoid the rush - sign up now. 

BAR STROLL - Channelside 
The TBPH Club BAR STROLL thru Channelside is scheduled for Saturday, August 12th.  Rooms will be available at the Tampa Marriott Waterside for $89 next Wednesday (813-314-6622).  Parking at the hotel is by valet only for $16/night or $8 for the day.  Parking is also available at Channelside if you are not planning on staying over.  Come on out and stroll thru Channelside with all your Parrot Head friends!!! 

HELP WANTED - Membership Committee 
The Membership Committee is looking for volunteers to help out at the Membership Table during meetings.  Needed are 2-3 people to work as a team at every third meeting from 6ish to 8:30ish (depending upon activity at the table). 
  
Responsibilities include talking with member wannabes, keeping a log of new members and renewals received at the meeting, laminating badges, opening membership mail, handling money and checks and making change.  At the end of the night you would prepare the bank deposit slip, pack up and return materials to the storeroom.  You don’t have to worry about set-up as our own 12-Volt Man, Jerry, takes care of that for us.  (Thanks, Jerry!) 
  
We need outgoing, upbeat people who have a positive club attitude and who enjoy talking with new people.  The routine is easy to learn and it’s a fun area to work.  If the club has had a positive affect on your life and you can convey that feeling to new member wannabes, we’d love to talk with you.

TBPH CLUB 12th Birthday Bash!!!!!!!!!! 
Mark your calendars for the weekend of September 8-10 for YOUR annual birthday party at the Holiday Inn Harbourside and Jimmy Guana's.  The reservation lines are now open and room rates are only $79 - $199!  Be sure to mention that you are with the Tampa Bay Parrot Head Club in order to obtain these rates.  Call them at 727-595-4825.  Patrick Foy and the Conch Critters, Connie and the DeLie'ed Parrots and FlipFlop Dave Fogler will be providing the entertainment for the weekend. Calendar
Don't forget to pick up your copy of the new July-August Calendar at the Welcome Table this Wednesday!  There are many new activities listed in this edition as we look ahead to a very busy second half of the year!!! 

Meeting of the Minds 
Don't forget to register for Meeting of the Minds -- November 2nd - 5th, 2006. Hotel reservations at the Southernmost can now be booked at the meetings.  First priority will be given to paid members of the club and a credit card is required to reserve a room.  The deadline for reserving a room will be September 20th, or "once they are all gone," whichever comes first! MEETING WEDNESDAY 
Once again, our next Tampa Bay Parrot Head Club Meeting is scheduled for this Wednesday, July 19th, at Storman's.  Be sure to make this meeting as Margaritaville Orlando has asked us for more autographed T-shirts to hang in the restaurant.  We will have them available for all to sign at the next couple of meetings.  Here's a great opportunity to showcase your graffiti skills, but please do remember to keep it PG rated as they will be displayed in public where kids may be reading.
