Here is some info about one of our upcoming so-sponsored events.  If ya 
make a mean margarita you may want to enter.  This is a real fun event 
we have been involved with for many years.  Music will be by the 
Caribbean Chillers who always put on a great show.  Here’s the info:

Parrot Head Party to include first Margarita Pour-off

PALM HARBOR – Next month’s celebration here of all things Jimmy Buffett 
will have a dash – figuratively, at least – of Sammy Hagar. When the 
Palm Harbor Parrot Head Party returns to the downtown district along 
Florida Avenue it will have a new wrinkle: a Margarita Pour-off – no 
doubt fitting for a festival honoring the man who sings about “wasting 
away again in Margaritaville.” The margarita-making contest, likely to 
become a permanent fixture in the Parrot Head Party lineup, will be 
sponsored by Cabo Wabo Tequila. Hagar, the rock singer and guitarist 
perhaps best known for his stint with rock mega-band Van Halen, created 
the brand of tequila for his Cabo Wabo Cantina, in Cabo San Lucas, 
Mexico. The fruity beverage has tequila as its base but can also 
include vodka, schnapps or triple sec. Kathy Govola, Old Palm Harbor 
Main Street administrator, said Parrot Head Party organizers are hoping 
to attract entrants to the margarita competition from area bars and 
restaurants. They hope to have around 20 contestants. The competitors 
will demonstrate their margarita mixology methods to a panel of judges 
that will bestow the Best Margarita title. In addition, Margarita 
Pour-off spectators of legal drinking age – 21 or older, under Florida 
law – will get a chance to vote on People’s Choice Award, Govola said. 
Experts in stirring up the tasty libation should register to be part of 
the festivities as soon as possible, said Lesley Klein, president of 
Old Palm Harbor Main Street. The entry fee is $150. The Main Street 
merchants organization will present the 2006 Parrot Head Party in 
conjunction with the St. Petersburg-based Tampa Bay Parrot Head in 
Paradise Club on Saturday, June 10, 2 - 10 p.m.

PIG ROAST AT KAHUNA'S

Don’t forget we’ve got our annual Pig Roast coming up Saturday, May 
20th at KAHUNA’S.  This is always a big time with great food, music and 
ICE SHOTS! The faces of people doing ice shots (not that I would know 
anything about ice shots or even sliding down the ice at the end of the 
event) are worth the price of admission.  Hope to see ya there.  Tiks 
are $10 at the next meeting. $12 day of Pig Roast.

BUS TRIP?

Charlotte wanted me to put out a note to see if people wanted to go to 
the party in St. Augustine that we went to last year on the bus.  We 
may not do a bus trip but we need to see the interest before making 
that call,   Really we are just trying to get some feedback here.
