Our next meeting is manana, Tuesday, August 7th, at the 420 Park Place.  Remember to PROUDLY WEAR YOUR TAMPA BAY PARROT HEAD CLUB NAME BADGE at the 420.  Members need to have their name badges displayed in order to get the FREEEEEEE dinner buffet!!!

 

 

A  BIG Teeeeeeeeeam Drink goes out to all who turned out for Saturday's Last Man Standing Barr crawl and those volunteers who helped to put it on, and also to Chief Officer of Community Events Dave and our TBPH volunteers who so generously gave of their time working the clean-up crew for Wazoo, the beer festival-fundraiser at Lowry Park Zoo in Tampa!!!

 

A special teeeeeeeeeeeeeeeam drink also goes out to John Graham....winner of the Last Man Standing competition at the bar crawl, to Dave Best... our bar stroll grillmaster extraordinaire, and to Cheryl Lanier... Charlotte's sister, who won the 50-50 raffle at our bar stroll, which the club put together for Save Our Seabirds, and DONATED HER WINNNGS BACK TO SOS!

13TH BIRTHDAY PARTY SHIRTS

You can STILL pre-order a unique and once-in-a-lifetime-design t-shirt for our lucky 13th Birthday Bash weekend. This design will be kept closely guarded and under wraps until the weekend of the party.  We are taking pre-payments so please come see Charlie Rose to pay for your shirt. You do need to pay for your shirt in advance.  Order yours SOON. Price per t-shirt is $20 and can be paid for at the Fins To The Left store

 

Bar Stroll Tank Tops: If you didn't pick up your shirt this weekend please come see Charlie Rose at the store. If you didn't order one but still want one there are a few left. $20 each.

 

Dates for our 13th Birthday Party are Sept 7 & 8.  The location is the Holiday Inn Harbourside at Indian Rocks Beach.  We have John Frinzi playing Friday night, Flip-Flop Dave playing at the pool on Saturday,  Jack Mosley and Patrick Foy & The Conch Critters playing Saturday night. Don't miss out!!! Remember, a hotel room is always cheaper, safer and a lot smarter than possibly getting a DUI!!

 

LOOKING FOR A MEMBER-AT-LARGE
As you know, our good friend Biker Steve, the current male member-at-large, is moving on to become the TAMPA BAY PARROT HEAD CLUB FIRST MATE beginning with Capt'n Harry's retirement.  This means we now have a vacancy for a member-at-large, to serve for the remainder of 2007 and 2008.  If you are interested, please contact ANY board member at the meeting or send an email to any board member. The deadline is August 15th.  

 

MARK YOUR CALENDARS FOR THE NEXT CLEAN UP OF PARROT HEAD ISLAND

 

Saturday, September 15th is our next scheduled clean up.  It is also the date for the Florida Coastal Cleanup. Each year on the 3rd Saturday in September, Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful coordinates the Clean Up locally. This event is part of the International Coastal Cleanup, which is coordinated by the Ocean Conservancy. This is the largest marine-related Clean Up in the world! Be a part of it.  Stay tuned for more details about signing up and participating in this event!

 

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

There are lots of opportunities to get involved with volunteering with the greatest club in the world!


MEMBERSHIP COMMITTEE: Want to help get new members signed up at the membership table?  Andy, our Chief Officer of Membership, is looking for people-oriented people who can help man the table at the Tuesday meetings. See Andy at the meetings, or else send him an email at a1a_andy at verizon.net. 

13TH BIRTDAY PARTY: We need LOTS of volunteers to make our September birthday bash a truly remarkable event.  Please contact Commander NanaBabe at the meeting or sign up at the Welcome Table.  If you can't make the meeting, please email Commander NanaBabe at grlof1000faces at aol.com  and let her know you want to be a part of creating this monumental event!!!!    

TELEPHONE TREE: We have made many friends over the 13+ years in the Tampa Bay Parrot Head Club. Now, as we prepare for our 13th Birthday and Capt’n Harry's retirement as our Captain, we want to locate Parrot Heads who are former members to make it the BEST PARTY ever!! Rachel is putting together a group to do a phone tree to contact past members. If you are interested in helping out with this, please see her at a meeting or email her at gravitynvrholdme at aol.com. 
  

PHOTOGRAPHERS AND VIDEOGRAPHERS: The Tampa Bay Parrot Head club is looking for photographic talent. We are hoping to share the responsibility, having at least one photographer at each event. Approximately 5-7 photographers can rotate. With a group of photographers, we will miss nothing, and one person doesn’t have to do it all.  Please contact Loni Vroom if interested.
