had to be there” BULLETIN for the TBPH meeting on Tuesday, August
21st

Have you ever asked
another Parrot Head “What happened at the
meeting last night”? or “How was
the Bar Stroll last weekend”? Well now you can get the scoop
from the “You had to be there” BULLETIN posted directly on the FINSUP.com
web site! How Cool Is That?!??!

Captain’s
Greeting

Captain
Harry kicked off the meeting with a Big Helllllllllllllo to the largest
Parrot Head Club in the World!

The
Captain acknowledged the staff of the “new membership” area and pointed
out the location of the network table and thanked our Welcome Court for
doing a Great Job! He also pointed out the Fins to the Left
Store.

A
programming note: Jimmy Buffett will be performing here in Tampa with 2
shows, November 1st and November 3rd! (Same dates as
MOTM, you decide)

The
Captain pointed out some visiting Parrot Heads from St. Louis! Welcome to
420 Park Place and the Best Club in the World!

The
Captain was joined by Biker Steve and Marilyn, our Members-at-Large
Representatives. Remember, these members are our resource for any club
concerns we may have. It was decided by majority vote that our
Members-at-Large would be required to wear their signs at all times !
(That lasted about 2 minutes)

The
Captain was joined on stage by Dennis from Tampa Bay Watch and Jim from
Kahunas and NanaBabe! As a result of the Kahunas pig roast a check for
$1,385.00 was presented to Tampa Bay Watch! Great job to all those who
attended and a huge “Teeeeeeam Drink” !!! Another fine example of our
great members adhering to our motto: “Let’s Leave the World a
Little Better than We Found it…. and Have a Blast Doin’
It!”

Bay Watch, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit stewardship program dedicated
exclusively to the charitable and scientific purpose of protecting and
restoring the marine and wetland environments of the Tampa Bay
estuary.

you have any questions. October 20th will be the rain-out date
so mark your calendars. We had a fabulous time at the May Raft-up so if
you missed that one don’t miss out on this one!

Our
FruitCakes Board made a trip to Orlando to participate in the Florida
Region Club Leaders Seminar. In addition to being a very productive
meeting, a tribute was made to Captain Harry in Special Recognition of his
Service!! Thanks to these members who made the trip and represented the
TBPH Club:

“Big
Wave” Dave!

A
reminder to mark your calendars for the next BIG beach Clean Up at Parrot
Head Island ! The date is September 15th and there are sign up
sheets at the meetings. If you missed the last beach clean up we hope you
will be a part of this great volunteer event. This is the International
Coastal Cleanup in participation with "Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful"
and
is a very worthwhile cause. Let’s all pitch in and help out!!!

“Let’s
Leave the World a Little Better than We Found it.. and Have a Blast
Doin’ It!”

The
Zoofari Volunteer event is scheduled for the first Saturday in November.
It falls on November 3rd this year. If you want to help out
with this great event please contact Dave. Dave will be enjoying the
festivities at the MOTM during this event so if anyone wants to fill in
for him at this activity your service would be greatly
appreciated.

To The Left Store

If you
couldn’t join us you missed out on some Great Items at the Fins To The
Left Store– With all the outdoor activities we are having you will need to
“gear up” with TBPH stuff! Beach Bags on sale for $12.00! Ball caps for
$15.00. You can also pick up your khaki floppy hat for $15.00! Charlie
Rose, Sharon and all the Fins to the Left Store volunteers had a nice
selection laid out so be sure to stop by at the next meeting and get all
your TBPH gear!

If you
missed the meeting you missed a special treat at the Buffet!! The 420 treated us
to “Build-Your-Own-Taco Bar” once again ! Tacos, beans, salads and even pizza!
It doesn’t get any better than that!!!

we had a fantastic Raffle! There were many unique and interesting items as

straw hat, Parrot Mug, Parrot Towel, Parrot Socks and a Parrot on-a-stick!
, and a hand painted Parrot Head sign! ….. and lots more cool stuff and
plenty of it! Altogether there were over 30 items donated for the raffle!!
If you missed the meeting you missed out on the chance to win some of
these great items!!

Remember
that when you participate in the raffle the proceeds go towards our
charitable donations so get involved and help make a difference!
