WHAT A GREAT DAY IN PALM HARBOR!!! 

A BIG TEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAM DRINK to everyone who came out Saturday, June 8th and partied for the annual Palm Harbor Parrot Head blast! Special thanks to Rachel and NanaDave for setting up, hanging out ALL DAY and tearing down, and all the volunteers who manned the booth to spread the word about this great club!

BAR STROLL !!!  BAR STROLL !!! MARK YOUR CALENDARS

Our Tampa Bay Parrot Head BEACH Bar Stroll is scheduled for Saturday, August 4th at Treasure Island. This year will feature a TRIATHLON, Parrot Head style with beach games and a competition for "Last Parrot Head Standing." We'll cap it off with one of ParrothEd's infamous SCAVENGER HUNTS !!! Hotel arrangements are being finalized and other details will be announced soon. SAVE THE DATE!!

 

BEACH CLEAN UP OF PARROT HEAD ISLAND

Our next clean up of Parrot Head Island is scheduled for SATURDAY July 14th, with a party to follow at the Dogwater Café near Nursery & US 19 in Clearwater.  This is part of our partnership with Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful. As always, we will meet in the big parking lot south on Rocky Point Road on the east end of the Courtney Campbell Causeway at 9:00 and hit the beaches about 9:30. Bring gloves and a hat and wear good shoes! This effort not only beautifies the coastline and community, but also helps to reduce the incidence of birds and marine wildlife ingesting or becoming entangled in marine debris. This is also an opportunity to get credit for Community Service.  There will be signup sheets at the meetings. SATURDAY AUG 4TH -WaZoo- LATE NIGHT CLEAN UP AT LOWRY PARK ZOO

Get ready to tame your taste buds as they go wild for Tampa's Lowry Park Park Zoo's 12th annual WaZoo celebration! This "tropical taste explosion" features beverage samplings from breweries worldwide and a beautiful wine garden. The event itself is from 7:30 to 10:30 P.M.  Parrot Head volunteers get to participate for free - but YOU HAVE TO WORK THE LATE NIGHT CLEAN UP SO THE ZOO IS READY FOR THE NEXT DAY'S OPENING. Only 20 volunteers are needed for this event, so if this event is FOR YOU, please sign up early on the sign up sheets at the meetings. If you can't get to the meetings, please contact David, Chief Officer of Community Events, at dolphin96 at verizon.net or by phone at 727-543-6548 or 727-734-8263. . 

 

CALLING ALL PARROT HEADS !! WHERE ARE THEY NOW?

We have made many friends over the 13+ years in the Tampa Bay Parrot Head Club. Now, as we prepare for Capt’n Harry's BIG ASS Retirement Party, we want to locate Parrot Heads who are former members to make it the BEST PARTY ever!! Rachel is putting together a group to do a phone tree to contact past members. If you are interested in helping out with this, please see her at a meeting or email her at gravitynvrholdme at aol.com.


Speaking of our 13th Birthday Party and Capt’n Harry's BIGASS Retirement Party, the date is set for Sept 7 & 8 at the Holiday Inn Harbourside.  We have John Frinzi playing Friday night, Flip-Flop Dave of Passport Beach Music playing at the pool on Saturday,  Jack Mosley and Patrick Foy & The Conch Critters playing Saturday night. Reservation information will be released soon, we'll keep you informed.  We also need LOTS of volunteers for a committee to pull this shindig off.  Please contact NanaBabe at the meeting or email her ASAP at grlof1000faces at aol.com  and let her know you want to be a part of creating this monumental event !!!!  
  

 

PHOTO OP --CALLING ALL DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHERS !!

As Heidi and Harry sail off into the sunset, the club is looking for new photographic talent. We are hoping to share the responsibility, having at least one photographer at each event, documenting the great time had by all. Approximately 5-7 photographers can rotate. With a group of photographers, we will miss nothing, and one person doesn’t have to do it all.  Please contact Loni Vroom if interested. FLBRAT2000 at yahoo.com.
