Hellooooooooooooooooooo Tampa Bay Parrot Heads!

 

Just a few quick notes.  One, there is a meeting next Tuesday for those who will be in town.  Being our patriotic 4th of July holiday, we will be having a special contest and prizes for the BEST PATRIOT RED, WHITE & BLUE PARROT HEAD OUTFIT so go get creative!   We may be having some other contests too.  I wish I could be there but Heidi and I will once again be fishing with our friends and fellow members Rob & Michelle (the first couple I married who met at the TBPH) who now live in the Keys – ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.

 

Second, NanaBabe wants to let everyone know that we are all set for the First Ever Tampa Bay Parrot Heads "Last Man Standing" Triathlon/Bar Stroll/Scavenger Hunt on August 4th!  

This event is like no other bar stroll we've ever attempted!!  We will begin at NOON!!!  Yes, HIGH NOON!  We will leave our weekend home at noon ... by trolley ... and proceed to our first stop, with our day taking us through mini-golf, shuffleboard and an obstacle course like no other you've ever experienced! 

These activities will lead us to the real highlight of the day ... hanging around the pool at our Old Florida Style Beach Motel sharing the items we have brought with us for the ultimate Tampa Bay Parrot Head competition:  our own ParrothEd's legendary Scavenger Hunt! If you've never experienced one of these, you are in for a real treat, it's a whole other world of scavenger hunts.  You will have two weeks plus the activities of the Triathlon (hint hint) to prepare and gather your items, always remembering that creativity counts! 

The itinerary and the Scavenger Hunt lists will be posted soon on a website for your viewing pleasure.  For now, all you need to do is save the date and secure your room. We will be staying at the Trail's End Motel, 11500 Gulf Boulevard on Treasure Island, just south of the bridge at John's Pass. Rooms start at $62 and go up to $116 per night when you ask for the Parrot Head rate. Call them at 727-360-5541 and you can check them out at www.trailsendmotel.info 

At those rates, we might as well make an entire weekend out of it so we'll all be ready to roll early ... because after all, how can you say you've partied all day if you didn't start first thing in the morning? This is our once-a-year party without a purpose, so come along, let's have some fun! More info coming soon!
