NanaBabe kicked off the meeting with a Big Aloooooha and welcome to 420 Park Place. She reminded us to take care of the bar and wait staff and welcome back to the DJ booth Nauti Nate!



NanaBabe pointed out the NEW locations for our Fins-to-the-Left Store and the Raffle Table!! The Membership Group will be moved soon as well so come out and update your memberships. Keep in mind that the fabulous FREE Buffet we get from 420 will only be available for members who are current on their dues beginning in January!

She was then joined on stage by our Member-at-Large Reps, Captain Pat and Vee!! Remember that our Members-at-Large are here to assist us with any comments, concerns or issues we may have. Let’s all get together for the FIRST ANNUAL “End of Hurricane Season” Concert and tailgate coming up on December 1st! Our very own Diana will be coordinating the tailgate activities so we can all party together! If you have any suggestions for Diana please email her at lilmsmagic1 at yahoo.com . There are limited spaces for tailgate vehicles so it is essential that we get a plan in place to get our group together! Joanie reminded us to sign up for the Parrot Head Bowling Night that will be on January 19th next year! The location will be determined by majority rules so get your name and city on the list and join us for a FUN night of bowling!

 

       



Dorothy reminded us that our annual holiday party is scheduled for December 8th! This is a BYOB event from 7:30 to midnight. Also bring a dish to share and either a canned/non-perishable food item or unwrapped child’s or pet gift for charity. There is a list of items that are need at the Welcome Table or you can find it in NanaBabe’s latest update here: http://www.finsup.com/commandobabe.html. Again, The party will be at The Treasure Island Community Center. Dorothy is asking for volunteers to help set-up and also to Clean-up so if you want to help out send her and email at dbedlin at msn.com.

Community Events Update by Chief Officer of Community Events

“Big Wave” Dave!








Big Wave Dave led us all in a Teeeeeam Drink for all the volunteers who helped Cleeeeeean the Beaches at Davis Island on Saturday! Great job and THANKS for all who helped out! A “You Had To Be There” Bulletin is out for everyone to see the hard working effort and the party at Elmer’s afterwards.

 

       

 

Dave also mentioned that we may organize a beach clean up for the Saturday before the Super Bowl so be on the look out for more information! Another opportunity for us to “Leave the World a Little Better than We Found it, and Have a Blast Doin It!”

Big Wave Dave was recognized by the Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful for his coordination of the Bleach Clean Up on Parrot Head Island in September! Great Job Dave in organizing our participation!!








 

Fins To The Left Store

 






Our Fins-To-The-Left Store Managers Bill and Sue have done a great job ensuring we have lots of Tampa Bay Parrot Head gear available for purchase! There are many items for holiday gifts including Beach Bags, Aprons, Shirts, Hats and the new custom license plates! Remember, if you order your custom license plate by the next meeting on December 4th it will be available for pick up on December 18th! Just in time for Christmas! Also, take advantage of the many bargains on the SALE TABLE including long sleeve concert shirts for only $7.00!!! WOW!!! These shirts are our Florida equivalent of a “winter coat” so don’t be “Left out in the cold”!!

 

       

Bill and Sue are also looking for volunteers to help out at the store. If you would like to help out for about an hour and a half every 3 months or so please contact them at bill_n_sue at verizon.net!

Once Again, Say Hello to the “Raffle Crew”  now ophicially known as “Door #3”– Bonnie R., Gloria, Miss Susan, Beverly, Sharon and Bonnie B. The raffle table is now set up down by the stage so you can stop by and take a look at all the great items you could win! If you would like to donate any items for the raffles please contact one of these hard working Parrot Heads! Thanks as well to St. Pete Pete for his hard work in selling the raffle tickets!!

 

       

 

       

 

As usual we had a fantastic Raffle! There were many unique and interesting items as prizes including a “Key West Package” straight from MOTM!, lots of parrot accoutrements, a Hawaiian shirt, Lowry Park Zoo tickets, Candles, Beach umbrella ear rings!!! , ….. and lots more cool stuff and plenty of it! If you missed the meeting you missed out on the chance to win some of these great items!!

Remember that when you participate in the raffle the proceeds go towards our charitable donations so get involved and help make a difference!
