A big TEEEEEEEEAM DRINK goes out today to our 50+ Parrot Heads who turned out for an ABSOLUTELY AMAZING Saturday afternoon ISLAND PARTY RAFT UP at Three Rooker Island. A special team drink goes out to Captain Dom Bianchi and the Parrot Head Navy who organized this FANTASTIC RAFT UP !!!

OCTOBER 27: 1ST ANNUAL TBPHC “JUNK IN THE TRUNK” 

Times are rough … you got too much stuff?  Then now is the time to clean them out and be a vendor at the 1st Annual TBPHC Junk in the Trunk Sale.  It will be our club's own "flea market for a cause".  Here's how it goes -- You donate and sell your items, and all proceeds will go towards our annual donation to the “Tampa Bay Parrot Head Scholarship at the College of Marine Sciences at USF” Endowment Fund.  The event runs from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the parking lot at QUAKER STEAK & LUBE, Pinellas Park/Clearwater, 49th Street (At US 19). You can sign up at the meetings to be a vendor, or contact Val Whitman vwhitman at tampabay.rr.com or Joanie Bianchi joanieanddom at verizon.net for more information. 

JIM LANIER will be entertaining us during the sale and at 2 PM the ERIC STONE BAND will take the stage to rock our flipflops off into the evening. This is our PRE-PRE-PRE-PRE-CONCERT PARTY! There will be all kinds of fun things happening like a 50/50 raffle and Quaker Steak is giving away TWO RESERVED SEAT TICKETS to the SATURDAY Concert and you don’t want to miss any of it!!

 

October 30: PRE-PRE-PRE-CONCERT/MotM KICK-OFF/HALLOWEEN AT 420

Vampires Mummies and the Holy Ghost are sure to attend even if it is NOT Halloween in Tijuana!  The 420 goes all out for Halloween, and has invited the Tampa Bay Parrot Heads to participate in their festivities.  There will be live music by Pat Foy and the Conch Critters, a raffle for two tickets to the THURSDAY concert as well as giveaways AND beginning at 9pm … COSTUME CONTESTS ...which WILL include some Buffett-related categories.  So get out your thinking caps and your old dunce cones, get yourself all psyched up at this SPECIAL 5TH TUESDAY meeting to head on down to... 

 

October 31 to Nov 3: MEETING OF THE MINDS

Our BIG ASS PARTY is THURSDAY EVENING, NOVEMBER 1, 7 PM AT SCHOONER WHARF with JACK MOSLEY, then we will migrate to the Casa to support our own LANDSHARKS BAND taking the stage at 9!!!  



There is a room in need of a roommate. See NanaBabe at the meeting if you need a napping spot!

November 2: PRE-PRE CONCERT PARTY at Kahuna’s

Live Music with Tropical BrainFreeze and all the awesome things we can always count on Jim Kendrick for ... giveaways, prizes, ice luge, bonfire, AND we will be having a special raffle for TWO FREE TICKETS to the Saturday concert!! You KNOW you want to be there, you don’t want anyone saying “You had to be there!”

 

November 3: PRE-CONCERT TAILGATING 

In our fine Tampa Bay Parrot Head tradition, we are organizing a GIANT tailgate party at the Ford Amphitheatre in advance of Jimmy's November 3rd concert.  We will be needing some volunteers, so if your plans are to be in Tampa Bay and not Key West, see Biker Steve and get on the list!

November 3: ZOOFARI FOOD FESTIVAL AT THE LOWRY PARK ZOO


Known as one of the largest and “wildest” all-inclusive food festivals in the Tampa Bay Area, Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo invites food lovers to its annual Zoofari feeding frenzy. The event features great food sampling from more than 80 restaurants. If you are not going to MOTM or the concert on the 3rd and VOLUNTEER TO CLEAN UP following this great event, you can attend for free. Mention that you are representing the Tampa Bay Parrot Heads. 
 
 


FINS TO THE LEFT STORE

New store manager Sue Nichols is looking for a few good Parrot Heads to volunteer helping at the Fins to the Left Store.  You'll take the early shift once every 2 months or so, arriving at about 5:45PM and handling the store until 7:30. Please see Sue at the next meeting or e-mail her (and hubby Bill) at bill_n_sue at verizon.net. AND Make sure you come by and check out the new, customizable license plates. And Tuesday is your last chance to stock up on TBPH gear for MOTM!!!
 

NOVEMBER 17: CLEEEEEEEEAN THE BEACHES

Mark your calendars.....Our next beach clean up takes place Saturday, November 17th at Davis Islands in Tampa.  We will meet at 10AM in the parking lot next to the Davis Islands Yacht Club. For more information, email Dave, our Chief Officer of Community Events at dolphin96 at verizon.net. 

 

DECEMBER 8: HOLIDAY PARTY 
Our Holiday Party will be held at the Treasure Island Community Center.  Reservations are available at the Trail's End Motel until 11/10/07.  Rates for December are $59-$69 for non-efficiency and $79-119 for efficiency.  A flyer with additional details is available at the Welcome Table.  Ask for the Parrot Head rate when calling for a reservation (10% discount on prices).  More info as the date approaches.


Remember to PROUDLY WEAR YOUR TAMPA BAY PARROT HEAD CLUB NAME BADGE at the 420.  Members need to have their name badges displayed in order to get the FREEEEEEE dinner buffet!!!
