Capt’n’s Greeting








Capt’n Harry kicked off the meeting with a Big Helllllllllllllo to the largest Parrot Head Club in the World as he presides over his final meeting as Captain!!! 
There was plenty of tissue around for an emotional farewell!



The Capt’n acknowledged the staff of the “new membership” area and pointed out the location of the network table and thanked our Welcome Court for doing a Great Job! He also pointed out the Fins to the Left Store.

The Capt’n was once again joined by Biker Steve, who, along with Marilyn, is our Member-at-Large Representative. Remember, these members are our resource for any club concerns we may have. This is Steve’s final meeting in this position as he will be assuming the role of First Mate! If you would like to be considered for the vacant Member-at-Large position please let one of the Fruitcakes Board members know. You will find their email links at the end of this bulletin!

First Mate NanaBabe reminded everyone about the Huge Lucky 13th Birthday Party this weekend! We will also be celebrating Capt'n Harry’s retirement so you don’t want to miss out!



Don’t forget that we will be having a silent auction with the proceeds benefiting the Save-Our-Seabirds Organization. There will be many valuable auction items up for bid such as Buccaneer Tickets, Resort Stays, Liquor, Boat Trips, Original Artwork and many others. Over 30 packages in all! The auction will be Friday from 6 to 9 pm and only cash or checks are accepted. There is an ATM on site for your convenience. Please help with this worthwhile cause and walk away with some cool stuff too! This is another example of Our Club living up to our motto:

and Have a Blast Doin’ It!”

   

A Reminder that we will be having a raft-up Island Party on October 13th! This raft-up will be at Three Rooker Sand Bar! Please contact Captain Dom if you have any questions. October 20th will be the rain-out date. We had a fabulous time at the 
May Raft-up so if you missed that one don’t miss out on this one!

“Big Wave” Dave!








Dave started off with a Thank You to Captain Harry for the last time!!



A reminder to mark your calendars for the next BIG beach Clean Up at Parrot Head Island ! The date is September 15th and there are sign up sheets at the meetings. If you missed the last beach clean up we hope you will be a part of this great volunteer event. This is the International Coastal Cleanup in participation with "Keep Hillsborough County Beautiful" and is a very worthwhile cause. Let’s all pitch in and help out!!! We will be having an after clean-up party at Kahunas so make a point to join us!

Unfortunately we will not be participating in the Zoofari Volunteer event scheduled for November 3rd this year due to many conflicting events on that date. We will pick up this worthwhile volunteer event in November of 2008. If you are still interested in participating on your own this year please get involved and help out!

Fins To The Left Store

 






As always there are Great Items at the Fins To The Left Store for sale– With all the outdoor activities we are having you will need to “gear up” with TBPH stuff! Charlie Rose, Captain Dom, Mango Mama (You know, Peggy’s Cousin) and all the Fins to the Left Store volunteers had a nice selection laid out so be sure to stop by at the next meeting and get all your TBPH gear!

Again, we had a fantastic Raffle! There were many unique and interesting items as prizes including a BIG Metal Parrot, a hand painted Parrot Head sign, a Hawaiian shirt, Parrot Trivets, Parrot Message Boards, Parrot Cups, Silverware, Wall Hangings, Parrots, Parrots, Parrots!!! Even a Parrot Beach Bag and some cool Margaritaville stuff!!! , ….. and lots more cool stuff and plenty of it! Altogether there were over 30 items donated for the raffle!! If you missed the meeting you missed out on the chance to win some of these great items!! 

Remember that when you participate in the raffle the proceeds go towards our charitable donations so get involved and help make a difference!
