“YOU HAD TO BE THERE” !

This weekend was a blast!! With so many Good Friends, Good Times and Great Memories, it would be impossible to capture it all in this bulletin! Sooooo, here are just a few highlights from the weekend. If you weren’t able to join us we hope you make plans for next years 14th Birthday party!

First of all, A Special Thank You and Teeeeeam Drink to our Fruitcakes Board Members, Crew Members, and all the Parrot Heads who volunteered their time to pull off this event!  You wouldn’t believe the planning and organization that goes on behind the scenes to make sure this and all of our TBPH activities are flawless!

Friday evening was the kick off for the weekend with a social gathering at JimmyGuana’s. Rachel and her volunteers worked tirelessly to organize the Silent Auction with the proceeds going to Save Our Seabirds. A Grand success with $5000.00 collected! Additionally, Over $350.00 was collected thru the 50/50 raffle and another $150.00 from the Photo shoot!

Charlie Rose and crew had our one of a kind T-shirts available with a special 
J-Bird tribute to Capt’n Harry!

  

 

The one and only John Frinzi kicked off the weekend’s entertainment! 
A top notch musician with loads of talent!



 

There was toastin’, some roastin’, and a whole lot of Capt’n Harry look-alikes!!

Saturday was kicked off at the pool party! There were plenty of drinks, burgers and dogs and great poolside music by Flip Flop Dave!



 

Saturday evening after a great buffet we assembled in the conference center for the Lucky 13th Birthday Party and Capt’n Harry’s Retirement!  
Jack Mosley kicked it off with some great music! There was recognition for the hard working crew and volunteers, special tribute speeches to Capt’n Harry and a tearful farewell speech.



 

It was a memorable evening and the emotion and atmosphere cannot be effectively put into written word so I won’t attempt it here. For those of you who were there, you know what I mean.

As you know with Capt’n Harry’s retirement comes the passing of the torch (or was that a coconut?) to our new leader, Commander in Chief NanaBabe. Affectionately now known as Commando Babe! Since Capt’n Harry had never been “officially” indoctrinated into the club as a new member this was to be Commando Babe’s first order of business. Sooooo, adorned with white lei, on his right knee, with a shot of sex-on-the-beach in hand, Capt’n Harry made the promises that so many of us have made! Teeeeeam Drink!

 



 

 

 

Throughout the evening there was dancing, singing, a memorable photo session and great music by Patrick Foy and the Conch Critters.



 

Altogether our photo group took well over 1000 pictures this weekend. We will be working diligently to get these posted to finsup.com as soon as possible for your viewing pleasure.

Lastly, but certainly not least, a HUGE Thank You to the Holiday Inn Harbourside and JimmyGuana’s for hosting this event.
