Alohaaaa Tampa Bay Parrot Heads!!
Between Captain Jack being sick and me having major internet issues lately, this bulletin is a wee bit late. Since its time for a meeting announcement, I'm just going to combine them this time. My part will be short and sweet and you can get right on the bulletin!
There will be a MARDI GRAS MEETING at Kahuna's tomorrow, Tuesday Feb 5 starting about 6:30. There are special festivities planned, and it is again $1.39 Burger Night, so be sure to come on out and show Kahuna's and Jim Kenrick some love for coming through for us on such short notice. Jim Lanier and J.C.Unger (Buffett meets Sinatra) are teaming up as The Beach Bums to perform for you, and this will be another treat for your ears!
Bring your checkbooks so you can get your Lightning tickets, it'll be March 29th before we know it!
We have made some changes to your Fruitcakes Advisory Board. Rachel Keller and Shari Lueck are now Co-Chief Officers of Membership and since Rachel is vacating her position as Chief Officer of Media, "BackRow Bob" Bliss and Diana DeVercelly are going to become your new Co-Chief Officers Of Media. You may notice a pattern here ... Co-Chiefs ... Special Events, Membership, Media. We have made the decision to have two people in the key positions to remedy the fiascos that tend to occur when someone steps down unexpectedly and no one else knows how to do the job. Stay tuned for more of these kinds of announcements!
One of the Trop-Rock artists that appears at MotM and many PH events, Don Middlebrook (of Living Soul and the Pearl Divers) will be at Rapscallion's Thursday night. Let's show these guys some support whenever they come to our area, so they'll do it more often!!

Greeting
NanaBabe Welcomed all the Parrot Heads to our phlocking at Kahuna’s
and gave a huge THANKS to Jim for hosting our get-together! Since the 420
is no-more, we have had to make other arrangements for our meeting and
Kahuna’s came thru when we needed them !!

Just a few things to share
with the phlock – We had a 50/50 raffle with proceeds going to the benefit
of many of our obligations! Congrats to JoJo who had the winning
ticket!
NanaBabe led us in a
Teeeeeeeam Drink for Annie, our waitress for the evening, who did a
wonderful job keeping those $1.39 cheeseburgers coming!! Thanks Annie!! We
were also reminded to get our stickers for our badges and to register for
Floridaze as the registration is limited and we don’t want to miss out on
this great event! More info to follow in the Membership report and the
Parties and Trips updates!
We all enjoyed some great
Buffett tunes from “Island Bill Haughey” who gave us a great performance!
This is the first time I had ever heard Island Bill and his playing and
singing was very, very good! We sang and danced to old songs, new songs
and many of our favorite Buffett music! If you missed the meeting you
missed some great entertainment! …. And….. Island Bill performed for us
for tips only!

Heads at the Tampa Bay Lighting Hockey Game – Saturday, March
29th! Tickets are $25.00 each and are on sale at the meetings.
Happy Hour at Newks from 4:30 to 6:30! Raffle tickets will be available
for $5.00 to win a ride on the zamboni!!

ROAST!!! The annual pig roast is tentatively scheduled for Saturday, April
12th at Kahuna’s!! Mark your calendars!
The
Bowling night was a HUGE success so plans are in the works to have another

WE
ARE CLEEEEEEANING THE BEACHES....SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 2
The February
clean up of Parrot Head Island is part of our required effort as
Adopt-a-Shore representatives. There was a signup sheet at the meeting but
if you weren’t able to join us, please contact David, Chief Officer of
Community Events at dolphin96 at verizon.net ,
727-543-6548 (c) or 727-734-8263 (h). As always, we will meet in the
parking lot of The Rusty Pelican on the south end of N Rocky Point Dr, off
the east end of the Courtney Campbell Causeway at 9AM and hit the beaches
about 9:30. Bring gloves and wear closed toed shoes. The after-Clean Up
party will be at the Banana Boat on Gandy Blvd. Let’s all get out there
and live up to our motto: “Let’s leave the world a little better
than we found it and have a blast doing it!”
