I would like to ask the group who may have outpatient clinics (off campus) the following:
How do you handle a bariatric patient that is unable to navigate into the clinic on their own?
What do you do that is different if they require assistance out of the vehicle / in and out of the clinic? (Clinics typically don't have the volume of staffing or resources to help a 400-500 lb patient with mobility issues).
Do you have special equipment at your clinics to assist staff? If so, what is it and does it meet your needs?
Any other input that you may have found to be useful when planning care in the OP setting for bariatric mobility challenges?
