Here are our materials. I think the program and the checklist will be most useful. Basically we paired off the trainees and had them fit test each other. There
was time for the whole group to ask questions in between. Keep in mind that it is very important to train trainers on what to do if someone fails a test. For example, the fit-tester should not make adjustment to the straps…
To do this with 20 people you need a
very large well-ventilated room . This training, which took about 4 hours, included 1 hour on delivering a respirator training program, as well.
This was developed for the NYSDOH initiative to train nursing homes to implement programs during the flu epidemic.
