Hi Connie,

Sorry for the delayed reply. We used Bay State Cable Ties. http://www.baystatecableties.com/ I’ve attached a picture of how it looks on our badge; it attaches through a small hole at the top. We change colors each year.

I hope this helps.

What vendor did you use for the zip ties?  We are using customized stickers but we're finding they aren't sticking towards the end of the flu season.

This is our second season of a vaccinate or mask policy.

·         Employees who are vaccinated receive a badge indicator (small, colored zip tie that creates a ring on the badge and cannot be removed).

·          Anyone without an indicator must wear a mask at all times while at work, regardless of patient care. Leadership felt this supported the message that we were protecting each other as much as we are protecting our patients.

·         Employees may decline for any reason but must sign a formal declination and tell us the reason for declining (which made our NHSN reporting easier).

·         Compliance deadline is November 1 to receive the vaccine or wear the mask. Those who do not complete either by the deadline are subject to corrective action.

Stay healthy!

Hello everyone,

This year for those individuals that decline seasonal flu vaccine a red sticker will be placed on the badge to indicate that they need to mask in patient care areas when they will be within 6 feet of patients. We have decided that this will help enforce the masking policy for our facility.

For centers with a mandatory flu vaccine policy, what do you do with those who get an exemption:  Nothing, badge sticker to delineate unvaccinated personnel, mandatory mask, anything else?
