We do not do physicals except in specific jobs that fall under regulatory requirements (flight crew, drivers, police, child care workers, etc.) For most healthcare
workers there is no physical, just review of infectious disease immunity/screening/vaccinations per medical center policy, and a clearance for N95 respirator use. We do this at orientation events.

Hello all
As with many of our health care systems, we are asked to use resources wisely. I am interested in what you EHS does for pre-placement evaluations. We have traditionally had
NP’s do the exams. We have the RN;s do the paper clearances for certain positions, with referral to the NP for red flags.
We are thinking about having RN’s perform the basic exam and defer to the NP or MD when there are questions.
