We use N95s. Hasn’t posed any problems really, they use this instead of surgical mask. Obviously it’s not the N-95 with exhalation valve, though you could use that under a surgical mask.

There was a helpful slide pack from CDC/NCZID from 2013 addressing prevention of potential transmission of HPV during surgical procedures that generate smoke

Guidance was to consider N95.   I’m in search of anything  additional that may have come out over the last 3 years.  Any help appreciated.


Wonder what the feasibility is of that, depending upon whether the mask would interfere with the surgeon’s using an operating scope, and what your institutions are doing.
