We do baselines on all Volunteers then annually if in patient care areas. We do not repeat PPD’s if break in Volunteering as long as their PPD is within the year.

When we have volunteers that are not active for 3 months or more, we require them to meet with employee health before returning to their volunteer duties. They do not have to redo their TB skin test if they
have had it within the last year.

This is good information.
I wanted to piggy-back on this question. What do you all do with volunteers that are “episodic” in their service to your organization? We have many volunteers that return home for the summer and when they come
back for the winter they resume their volunteer duties. The break in service could be 3-6 months. I’m curious to know whether you would repeat TB testing.
