We are using the Med-Care Car Extractor lift and seems to be working well for us at this time.

What do you use to get critical patient’s out of a car?  Ones that are dead weight and can’t assist?

Thank you,

FROM OUR SPM COORDINATOR:

McAuley has a longer slide board for car transfer that has non-slip surfaces for each end so it stays in place: http://mcauleymedical.com/repositioning_aids.php.  If the patient is sticking to the board, you can add a small friction reducing sheet (like Patran) or the family can use a garbage bag if they don’t have access to these sheets.  The manual sit stand lift that I like is the Return 7500i from HandiCare (have trialed them and have ordered them, but they are not here yet):  http://www.handicare.com/us/products/transfer-and-lifting/sittostand-aids/systemromedic-return7500i/c-117/c-1204/p-293

And this is the most valuable item I use with my aunt to get her in and out of the car (I use a step designed for use in the bathroom, but this one is hospital grade and non-slip: http://sandelmedical.com/products.asp?id=788

Good afternoon.

Can anyone advise on a good piece of equipment to use for getting a patient into or out of a car. Preferably rather small and portable with no slings.

Thanks!
