We have separate definitions for vendors and contractors. Our policy language defines contractors as individuals who provide care, treatment, or services to patients served by our organization.  Contractors who meet the policy definition must submit immunization and testing records to EH for review.   Vendors are defined as individuals who provide some type of supplies to the organization.  They are managed through our Procurement department and must submit their records through RepTrax in order to gain access to the facility.

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Vendors

Hello all,

How do you define a vendor?

Are there any vendor types that your facility “exempts” of health screening requirements? Capital project staff, regulatory surveyors, ambulance drivers, installers?

Do you have any time period that would warrant exemption? ie. Vendor coming to repair equipment in non-patient care area for one day?

Do you separate them into two groups such as patient care areas vs non-patient care areas?

Any guidance is appreciated.

Sincerely, Erika
