RE: PRO Employee Health Protections program

Vanderbilt University Medical Center (VUMC) has developed a new program called PRO Employee Health Protections. It is sponsored by the National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL), a division of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH). The aim of this project is to build a national surveillance system to monitor healthcare personnel effective use and accessibility to supply of personnel protective equipment (PPE) related to Ebola Virus Disease and/or other special high-consequence pathogens. We are interested in recruiting up to 15 hospitals for up to 12-24 months of participation.

Participation in this project will help coordinate the PPE infrastructure within a hospital’s program by establishing, tracking, and benchmarking measures of PPE supply and use. Outcomes and lessons learned from participating hospitals will help support and inform government policy and guidance related to PPE. The aggregate, quarterly information we are collecting should align with data commonly tracked in hospital settings. For more information about this project, please contact PROassistance@vanderbilt.edu
