We do a post offer DOT- like 7 panel urine drug test on all UCLA Health new hires. The MD faculty and house staff come in through different routes and do not get an onboarding drug test. This
creates issues for house staff who may rotate through different hospitals which require a drug test on record, creates a last minutes fire drill on a recurring basis.
All including the MDs are subject after hire to suspicion-based testing using an to expanded panel; Quest HPP Comp 1, which includes about 25 drugs and we do well as breath alcohol testing along
with the urine drug test.

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Pre-Employment Urine Drug Screens
·
What drugs are tested for as part of your pre-employment urine drug screens?
o
We do a rapid 10-panel urine drug screen for
amphetamines, barbiturates, benzodiazepines, buprenorphine, cannabis, cocaine, methadone, methamphetamines, opiate, and oxycodone.
·
Are physicians at your facility drug screened prior to employment? If so, are they tested for the same panel of drugs or a different panel?
Thank you,
Meredith
