I do not know of a reference that addresses this however it is my medical opinion that at least one step (OR IGRA) should be done on the date of hire.  I do think that that is standard of care in hospital occupational medicine

We treat it like the 2nd TST of a 2 step – within 3 months of start date.

PS the decision was made in consultation with our ID team, giving consideration for the time frame for when one might consider an exposure after the last test to show up in screening.

Workforce personnel with documentation for negative BAMT completed within the past 12 weeks prior

to start date or documentation of a two-step negative TST (initial TST completed within the past 12

months and a second TST completed within the past 12 weeks prior to start date) will be exempt

from initial requirement of TST or BAMT.

When you accept BAMT documentation for a new hire what time frame is acceptable?  Meaning – do you accept it within 30 days of hiring, etc.?  Do you know what the accepted time frame is?  Is there a reference citation you can provide with this information?

Thank you

Cathy
