We use it at our facility.  Our oncology staff use standard chemotherapy precautions (chemo gloves, gown,)  and wear the N95 respirator.

Subject: [MCOH-EH] Using BCG Live Bladder Irrigations

Our facility is going to begin using BCG Live vaccine for treatment of bladder cancer. I can find very limited information regarding how to protect our employees who are administering this medication.  It will be mixed in our pharmacy under a hood however, it will be administered as a bladder irrigation by our nurses. Does anyone have a policy for the administration of this agent and what PPE is required both for mixing and administering since it is a live virus?  Thanks
