Dear friends of More Light Presbyterians,
General Assembly is next month from June 15-22, with a host of MLP
events planned that will bring a message of equality and justice to the
PCUSA. We'd like to invite you to support our General Assembly
Birmingham ground team by hosting a *"Right Now!" house party
<http://www.mlp.org/staticpages/index.php?page=houseparty2006>* right
from your own home, on Saturday June 10 or Sunday June 11. It's an
opportunity to have fun, invite your friends to learn about More Light
Presbyterians, raise funds to support MLP, and join a national house
party conference call to get the latest update on our work to bring full
equality to the PCUSA, with a special emphasis on our efforts for
General Assembly.

MLP's "Right Now!" house party weekend of June 10-11 is also More Light
Sunday weekend, so when you host a house party, you'll join with dozens
of churches around the country who are simultaneously organizing their
own More Light Sunday activities for June 11. You don't need to travel
to Birmingham to be part of the action or to support LGBT equality...
just invite a few friends over, show the DVD that we provide free of
charge, and join a national conference call with MLP's co-moderators and
our field organizer Michael Adee. The parties and the calls will
strengthen our solidarity as a movement, help grow MLP's membership, and
increase the financial strength of MLP to allow us to keep up the
national push for full equality. House parties are easy, fun, and a
great way to support the More Light movement. Plus, MLP can help you
with your house party in several ways:
* We'll list your party on our web site and invite MLP supporters to
contact you electronically. (You also have the option to hold an
unlisted "private" party.)
* Our detailed More Light house party guide is available to help you
host a great party.
* We'll be setting up "house party 101" training conference calls
later this month, to answer all your questions and give you the
details on how to organize a house party, from start to finish.
* We provide the content: house parties have the opportunity to show
one of the interviews from our /MLP special release DVD/, which
includes interviews with More Light field organizer Michael Adee
and with MLP board member Heather Reichgott. All house parties
also get to participate in the national conference call, which
will be an interactive event where you get to participate and ask
questions.
Can you host a party on Saturday June 10 or Sunday June 11? Sign up now at:

House parties should start at 7:00 PM eastern time (4 PM pacific) on
Saturday, and 5:00 PM eastern time (2 PM pacific) on Sunday, so that you
and your guests can join the national More Light conference call that
starts one hour later.
Inviting friends, family, and co-workers who care about
lesbian/gay/bisexual/transgender equality is a great way to get them
involved, to show that this is an issue that's important to you, and to
take action to support equality and fairness in our denomination.
Thanks for all that you do!
Sincerely,
Bear Ride and Kim Smith King
