More Light Presbyterians heads to General Assembly

Dear friends of More Light Presbyterians,

General Assembly is only 23 days away, and we're pulling out all the 
stops for our GA presence in Birmingham, to make sure that your voices 
are heard by the Assembly commissioners and the entire denomination.  
We've got multiple events scheduled for every day of the week, all of 
them designed to reach out to the Presbyterian Church with a message of 
fairness and equality.  To cover our costs for all of our General 
Assembly advocacy, education, and training activities, we need to raise 
$10,000.  Can you help by making a special pre-GA contribution of $25, 
$50, or more?

As our way of saying thanks, we'll send you a set of four of our popular 
"Right Now / Write Now" General Assembly 2006 postcards, which we've 
designed specifically for advocacy at this year's GA and will never be 
printed again.  The cards let you write your own message to this year's 
voting GA commissioners, then mail the card to MLP where we'll deliver 
it on your behalf at General Assembly in Birmingham.  You can send in 
one card yourself, share two with friends, and keep one as our thank-you 
for your help making justice a reality.

More Light Presbyterians unambiguously endorses the passage of the 
Heartland "delete-B" overture

justice today, and opposes the recommendations of the Theological Task 
Force report, which would delay and deny justice for lesbian, gay, 
bisexual and transgender people yet again.
