*Celebrate More Light Sunday--Tell the PCUSA "It's About Time!"*

More Light churches and other supportive congregations across the country
are getting ready for a special celebration of the gifts of LGBT
Presbyterians.  The annual More Light Sunday is a wonderful time of
worship.  It is a chance to lift up what being a More Light church means to
your congregation.  And this year, since More Light Sunday comes three weeks
before General Assembly, there will be perfect opportunities for your
congregation to send supportive messages directly to the Assembly, saying
"It's About Time" for the church to embrace LGBT people as fully as you do.

This year's date for More Light Sunday is June 1.  (Congregations may of
course celebrate More Light Sunday whenever they like, although the General
Assembly-related actions will be most relevant in late May or early June.)

More Light Presbyterians has just rolled out an updated set of resources for
this special day.  You can:

   - Download worship resources, including hymns, sample bulletins, and
   reflections on the lectionary Scriptures for June 1
   - Order colorful "More Light Baby" bulletin inserts
   - Order postcards so your congregation can write messages at coffee
   hour and send them back to MLP, to be delivered directly to the General
   Assembly
   - See who else is participating in More Light Sunday so far

We also invite as many congregations as possible to send us "Welcome Table"
photos.  On More Light Sunday (or some other day) gather your congregation
around your communion table and take a picture.  Be as creative, formal, or
funny as you like.  Email the picture to morelightsunday at mlp.org.  These
pictures will be enlarged and displayed at worship and witness events at
General Assembly, so that GA commissioners and observers can be surrounded
by your welcoming sanctuaries.
