[CASL-L] Middle school technology teachers?

My Grade 7-8 school may get a technology teacher added to our staff next
year. If your middle school has a technology teacher, does that person
teach classes on a fixed schedule or collaborate with classroom teachers
who are using technology with their classes on a flexible schedule?
I told my principal I would gather some information, since we're not
exactly sure how this teacher will be used if the position survives the
rounds of budget cuts and votes, etc.
