Spring Arrives with BookFlix
Believe it or not, spring is just around the corner! March 20th marks the
official start of the spring season. Here are a few ideas on how to use
BookFlix to get children excited about the warmer weather and springtime
flowers:

• Use the pair Planting a Rainbow and It Could Still Be a Flower to introduce
your students or patrons to all of the different types of flowers that will
bloom in the spring.

• Have each child make an illustration of their favorite flowers. Then mount
these drawings on the wall to create a colorful indoor garden.

• Grow a real garden with your classroom or library group. Have children bring
in various seeds they would like to grow and plant them in egg cartons or other
containers. Once plants are at the seedling stage they can be used to create a
garden on the school or library grounds.

For additional BookFlix activities you can use to learn about the spring season
check out the pair Miss Rumphius and From Seed to Dandelion.
